Sorry, but surprisingly the blacksmith says;
“Your points, they’re precious. Metal can be obtained double the amount of your points, however, it weakens your point gain when making the metal. Choose wisely, this is a time of fear.”
There are 3 paths, the blacksmith explains. They’ll be listed in the next message, so you can quote them better.

V Upgrade 1K V
“Bow of Power” - Based on your Points, you gain better Metal conversion. (50 Points)
V Upgrade 1P V
“Staff of Inflation” - Based on your Points, you get more Points (50 Points)

The blacksmith said you get double your points’ worth of metal. Meaning 50 points = 100 metal, however weakens point gain after

it appears he gives you 25 metal, as a gift. As you say thank you, you realize that the cart’s gone and the other upgrades aren’t there. However, he did leave you a metal converter and a portable upgrade producer. The metal converter seems to spark to life when you start walking away.
