How do i create my own upgrade for a certain layer?

im making my own TMT mod, thanks to @thepaperpilot, but i dont know how to make a upgrade!
heres the upgrade:
name = start
effect: starts producing 1 point/s
cost: 1 prestige point
layer: prestige

I think you should follow the Making a Mod tutorial, which goes over creating a new layer and adding an upgrade to it.
